Sweeping robot develops metal volcano

What is the purpose of using the sweepy/auto sweeper/bottle emptier to move the molten metal to the weight plate instead of just letting it fall down on its own?

I would guess it's a rate limiter as the bottle emptier can only do 200kg max per bottle?

But then if sweepy is able to keep up with the eruption, that's not much of an issue either. I guess it is so you don't have to look at the pool of molten material sitting on top of the neutronium?

Ohh! And with only that amount of liquid metal there, when it solidifies it becomes debris instead of a tile!  How do you keep the sweepy dock from overheating?  Or melting?  Can sweepy jump a 1 tile gap or climb up or down 1 tile?

If you can cool things down quickly enough, Iron will work for a lot of situations. But as you need to have "somewhere for that heat to go" loss of your heat sink can lead to all kinds of "fun times" for the unwary.

Exactly. As this is a copper volcano, the steam turbine is more than enough to eat all the heat so all you need to do is transfer the heat fast enough (the pictured diamond window tiles are excellent for this). In this build, the iron weight plate will never get close to the 1,500C or so needed to melt.

Batch cooling can prevent the melting metal from agglomerating. And control the speed of heat transfer, and then the steam engine can cool itself, without the need for liquid cooler to cool it. In conclusion, steel is saved. I usually give priority to steel in the farm plan and steel-making plan, which are more urgent, and then I consider to develop metal volcano. With this robot plan, I can develop metal volcano earlier. I saw brothgar's video so I made this plan.

This module needs 155kg of tungsten, or 155kg of steel, without liquid cooler, which greatly saves steel. something is better than nothing. I use translation tools.

I didn't want to let the molten metal flow directly. I can try it.
