GhostEcho
In my current playthrough I'm building a nice power grid with lots of transformers, batteries and power switches. The menu I come across to build these starts off like this: The things I build least often are generators, but these are at the top. So every time I have to scroll down to find what I need. The same also happens with furniture. I will build a lot of statues, paintings, flower pots, but my starting menu looks like this: My request is simply to improve the order of displaying so that the most frequently used ones are on the top. By contrast: the Automation section already does a pretty good job at this You could argue that the logic circuits should be higher up, but at least the automation wire and bridge are the first two things you see, and the signal switch is close by. So to take my suggestion all the way: it would also be nice if the plumbing and ventilation menus would also start with the different kind of pipes. It is not a biggie because I don't have to scroll. But still, I will build maybe 10-20 outhouses, lavatorie and showers in a long game, and literally hundreds of sections of pipe. So they deserve the top spots! Thank you. pether
I will use this opportunity to suggest dividing "Furniture" tab into "Furniture" and "Decor", because right now it has everything mixed together... Lights, tables, beds, recreation and decor... Having decor on a separate tab would make it easier to decorate the base and gives great potential for future decor options Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/116550-please-improve-display-order-of-build-item-menus-to-reduce-scrolling/#findComment-1316948 Share on other sites
PIRATE D KING
maybe they could make it so they can re re-arrenged? that would be cool. GhostEcho
Yes, re-arranging by the player would be the ultimate solution. Each player chooses what they like best. However -as a developer myself- I suspect this is a lot more effort compared to just changing the fixed order. So I'd settle for that as well. (Heck, I'd settle for knowing which file to edit to change the order to my personal preference ) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/116550-please-improve-display-order-of-build-item-menus-to-reduce-scrolling/#findComment-1317254 Share on other sites

If not rearranged, then maybe an option to hide items the player is not interested in. Or alternatively a “favorites” option that simply puts favorites at the top (albeit in the same default order beyond that). GhostEcho
Hmm, not a complete solution, but I just found out that there is a mod that will increase the size of the menus. At least this prevents the need for scrolling. In the steam workshop: Bigger Building Menu - by Cairath Thanks Cairath!
