i would love to see teleportation technology in the game, it could be like the "next big thing" achievable in end game, it would completely change how colonies are designed, decrease duplicants travel time, and give a even greater feeling of end game to the end game, it could have as many applications within the colony as devs see fit

Teleports would remove a lot of engineering challenges by allowing instant transport. They need to use serious amounts of power or have some other drawbacks (huge size, slow to work, one dupe at a time etc) so they are still interesting to use not an end game tech that you just plop there and forget about all your problems.

Massive energy is must-have in this technology, sure.

Another thing to balance its awesomeness could be area of interference - id you had 2 teleports X tiles apart each other none of them would work. So you couldn't just spam it eveywhere.

Additionaly they could work at some maximum distance only, so you could require several jumps to go from one end of the map to another.

Oh, and they could have two gates, in and out, so duplicants could enter only in-teleport and it could allow them to travel only to out-teleport - if you wanted to have big traffic in some area you'd have to build both of them.

And ofc the cooldown - that one is always good when balance is required. After using teleport it could require some time before it could be used again.

There are plenty options how to balance the teleport :)

Or you could make this thing really big, like the wind tunnel size so fitting multiple wouldn`t be an option.
