gaucho_tche
Does anyone have a clue on why the red square zone of the base is over 100oC while all the rest is between 50-60? I've tried putting wheezworts and pumping gases out of it but the temp just mantains itself in the highs. This is driving me nuts cause I need to use exosuits to access it otherwise they severe burn. nakomaru
I'd guess you're bringing in some hot stuff through that conveyor. I guess that could be it, not that I'm bringing anymore but there's tons of minerals and metals at 90oC. I guess they can be heating the surrounding area. DRAKCORE
Also the water you using for your oxygen production, what is the temp of the water coming in? Yunru
I'd also note that it's carbon dioxide, which doesn't change temperature very fast. KittenIsAGeek
The output from the electrolyzers is created at 70c. If no machines were running, this is the temperature the area around the electrolyzers would stabilize at. However in order to produce oxygen and hydrogen at 70c, the electrolyzers have to be running. The fans to pump the oxygen and hydrogen out must also be operating. These will also be adding heat energy to the system beyond 70c. This large heat source is underneath the area in question. Heat has a tendency to rise, so the ambient temperature above your electrolyzers will be hot. The area in question also has a lot of carbon dioxide, which doesn't move heat very well. This means the machines that are running are unable to disperse the heat away. The machines kick on, generating heat, then are unable to disperse the heat. The CO2 warms while removing very little thermal energy, raising the ambient temperature even further. Finally.. You have lots of wheezewarts.. but they're in CO2. As explained above, CO2 doesn't have much ability to move thermal energy. Oxygen is fairly decent. Hydrogen is even better. I suspect that if you were to flood that area with oxygen, your temperatures would start to drop down and become much more reasonable. It would take time, but it would happen. Another method that might work is to pipe your oxygen through that big room of hydrogen using radiant pipes before going into your base. Stick all your wheezewarts in there with a conveyor and such to feed them. gaucho_tche
thanks for the reply. After removing lots of minerals and metals the temp started to stabilize. I will use isolation blocks in the O2 electrolyzers room.
