So should curative tabs solve this? Or a new mechanic?

meaning lead poisoning.  I mean, this looks like the Rome empire waiting to fall, Lead in the floors has to be as bad as in the cooking pots?  Especially with lead floors in my kitchen?  We need lead poisoning cures!

Of course, if they bring in radiation, then we can discuss lead floors....not great, not terrible....

As a side note, why is lead already refined?  It makes things a lot easier vs all the other metals (and yes, never build any building out of it because it overheats way too low)

I guess that's why it's already refined - it sucks in comparison to other refined metals, but can be utilized as an intermediary material/for wires etc. so it has some value.

Lead poisoning mechanics sound neat, but I'm generally all for more complications in ONI in general so no surprise there :)

I brought this up in a similar thread, and was informed that in the absence of chloride, lead does not leech out of pipes into water. So I blocked off my chlorine geyser, vented all of it to space and continued with a clear conscience.

Why you'd use lead for floors/doors though, I've no idea. You do realize gold literally falls from the sky now, right?

Every material could inject particles into its air/fluid. Lead particles in pipes, granite dust from walking on granite tiles. It'd be just like the regular germ/disease disease mechanic except with super low infection rates and they wouldn't necessarily tell you that lead particles lead to "neural poisoning: -2 science, +5% stress" or coal particles lead to "black lung, -.07% breath" or stuff like that. Of course, they'd have to make it so multiple germs could exist on the same surface. Sounds good to me!

You were misinformed.  The chemistry of lead leaching does not involve chloride.  Typically it is with carbonates CO3, phosphates PO4, or Sulfides.....

I thought lead was always refined because it spawns in a biome with an ambient temperature above its melting point. It's the same with all metals, if they phase change to liquid and back to solid, they're always refined. Are solid lead tiles a thing?
