Dumping heat into plants - am I missing something?

Recommended Posts

So... I have a setup (sorry, no screens as it is scattered in many places) which basically gathers polluted infected water from toilets to reservoirs and then later this cool water is used to produce few early packs of steel and then dump extra hot water... somewhere. In previous base (around 2 weeks before, testing branch ofc) I was using it directly for reed fibres, feeding them ~85C water with limited throughput to almost meet plant requirements - and it WAS working, I mean - plant was not overheating. In this base I've used the same trick and I have overheating in few cycles. Was there any change I am not aware of in recent updates?

Should work like before. [I am doing the same with my bristle blossoms and I am just cooling the room(/air).]

Did you maybe use aluminium ore for your farm tiles? [This would be my only idea, regarding new changes.]

Ok, most of the time I am really lazy, so I do 4 things:

  • I don´t use valves for my plants. [Sure, I could reduce the transfered heat doing this but not for 240 plants in my little farm xD]
  • I (try) to use gold amalgam for my hydroponic farm tiles.
  • Always use an insulated pipe for the segment inside the hydroponic farm tile.
  • I build a row of tempshift plates above my plants, but high enough so they don´t interact with the farm tiles.
    • => Makes it easier to cool just the plant using "cold" air.
