Panthera_Tigris
I am using smart batteries with automation wires as on-off swithes. I have the values set up so that Hydrogen is the first to run followed by gas and petro and coal at the end. However, I noticed that my coal is running before the others because the smart batteries on the same ciurcuit are not equally charged!! It seems like physical proximity has a role to play here which should not be the case as electric feild should propogate close to the speed of light. So Is this a bug or intended behaviour? Harlequin80
It's been like that forever. Not sure as to the rationale, but you can compensate for it very easily by increasing the start % of your 1st choice power. I have never had this happen. Every time I've seen it happen to myself, I can trace it back to a fried wire, a careless deconstruct/reconstruct, or some other user created instance (dupes will rapidly fix an overloaded wire). Is there a possible chance that you have too much draw on your line, maybe 6 large transformers? Here is a related thread from last month. asdf11784
As far as I know they always get an equal amount of power, but it doesn't try to even them out (for instance, if one of them has 10% charge and the other has 40% charge at the start for whatever reason, and you generate enough power to give 50% of each, it'll just leave them at 60% and 90% so the lower battery will still be lower - it charges them equally, but it doesn't make an effort to prioritize the ones that are already lower). Depending on the way your circuit is set up it's possible for the lower batteries to just never get charged up properly so they never get set to where they should be. Qubit
When I add a new smart battery to a circuit, I pause game, set all smart batteries on the circuit to a 0% activation, 0% standby, then unpause the game and wait for all the smart batteries to drain and start flickering between their on/off states. At that point, I pause the game again, and visit each smart battery to set up it its 'true' percentages. One last unpause, and now your batteries should be in synch... I've never seen synched batteries fall out of synch personally unless I somehow cutoff a battery containing section of my power network from the main trunk. If that happens, then when I discover the orphaned branch and rejoin it to the main network, I'll visit the smart batteries again, set them all to 0, get them all equally drained, and then reset %s and fire things back up. I do this other way around lol. I charge them to be full and than set true %. Here are, perfectly explained, cause and fix. I second that they are desynced only after you build them, they don't desync afterwards. If you have them desync it means you never really needed that extra energy storage. It can actually be useful to determine whether or not you have ever depleted all your saved energy and entered an energy shortage. If all my batteries are in sync after I add a new one, it means they all reached ZERO charge at a certain point without me noticing and I need more energy.
