Pokeshells not attacking?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone figured how and when the pokeshells attack dupes? I literally got dupes idling in between 4 angry (red) pokeshells and not getting touched. Someone said it`s depended on game speed but changing to slow didn`t make them attack either. I thought it`s beacause i tamed them but wild ones behave the same.

Now after a few cycles a fresh dupe got badly injured and after another few cycles got incapacitated by them both off screen. Looked like they only attack slow dupes with 0 athletics or something. I`m not sure if it`s a bug since i don`t really know how they are supposed to behave. Note all my tests were with eggs nearby so the pokeshells were angry.

Anyone figured out the crab behaviour?

My understanding is that they attack when protecting eggs.  No eggs, no attacks.

So here i got 2 screenshots. 1 is Gossmann idling next to an egg. 2 crabs, obviously agressive stance, no attack. Second is abe next to a wild crab. No reaction, just wanders around. Both at x1 speed. I had 3 incidnents of crabs attacking dupes but all happened off screen. Should i post it as a bug?

i have experienced the opposite when my dupe dying randomly from pokeshell attack despite no egg in vicinity and also not in the critter egg list.

Actually i didn`t test their behaviour without eggs. All i saw is a dupe getting randomly incapacitated off screen but then 10 other comming in and being ignored.

It takes a while for them to start attacking. I never experienced pokeshell attacking my dupes, but I've observe this when they attack another critter that brave enough to wander into crab pen.

When they are already in an angry state, they will attack instantly any passerby. Maybe that what happened to your dupes off-screen.
