Does p-water produce PO2 forever?

So, does the PO2 off gas from Polluted water forever? Meaning it's a permanent unpowered source of O2 if one can come up with a permanent source of sand to clean it?

Forever, until it off-gas entirely.

PO2 appears, PW disappears. If you have unlimited amount of polluted water, you have unlimited amount of PO2

So it's not actually just "dirtying" the O2 around it? Which is what I thought it was doing all this time and why I struggled to deal with it!?  It's *creating* new O2?

"Off-gas" in this game means off-gasing substance slowly transforms into gas. So, if you put, say, some slime or polluted dirt and let it off-gas, it will slowly converts into PO2. You may think about it, as about "evaporation".

It's creating new PO2 and loose appropriate amount of mass

Thank you that explanation. I noticed this about slime before, and oxylite for certain, but never realized this about Pwater

Off the top of my head, the materials that offgas are oxylite, slime, polluted water, polluted dirt, and bleach stone.

Several types of material will transform into a gas, otherwise known as offgassing. The material loses its own mass while creating an equal amount of the new gas:

- Bleach stone turns into chlorine

- Polluted Dirt, Polluted Water, Slime turn into Polluted Oxygen

The transformation can be prevented by submerging the material (such as dunking the storage in liquid), or by having too much gas pressure for the material to transform.
