fimmatek
Earlier this year I found out, for my surprise, that some seasonal items and structures are still craftable, like the gift wrap and the mad scientist lab. As far as I know there is no official statement on how long they'll stay in the game, or is there? And on why? Because it doesn't make much sense in my opinion. Also, I noticed that these are not available in the RoT beta. Does this mean that they'll be gone by the time ToT hits the official launch? Viktor234
They should be still available, at least when the next Hallowed Nights, Winter's Feast or Year of the ... starts. Well-met
You never forget blueprints regardless of the state of your game. If you delete your world then you'll lose the ability to build them until the next time it's on Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/107675-seasonal-items-and-structures/#findComment-1211285 Share on other sites
me real life
As of Hallowed Nights 2018, the event recipes that you learn during an event will be learned forever in that world. I've got a world that's been going since Hallowed Nights 2017, and I'm unable to craft varg shrines, but I'm able to craft mad science labs, candy bags, and every other event recipe that's shown up after them. They're not available in the RoT beta since you're probably using a different world. You can copy your save over to the beta branch, and you'll likely be able to play it on the live branch once ToT is released, but you'll have a void for an ocean and none of the new world gen in either of these cases. It's a bit sad that we'll have to choose between event recipes and new content, but I'm sure nearly everyone will go for the new content. fimmatek
Thanks for the answers! Indeed all the last event recipes remained, which isn't bad, but I find it a bit strange. Since I haven't seen this mentioned in update notes it really confused me at first. Well, at least I'll have the chance to replace the festive trees and such if Deerclops manages to surprise me in base Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/107675-seasonal-items-and-structures/#findComment-1212434 Share on other sites
kiwikenobi
If you want your world to be able to craft things from just one event anytime, you can create a new world and mess with the event settings to have the event you want going on the whole time. So you can make festive trees or mad science year-round. Just not in the same world. At least, that's what I gather from this: https://dontstarve.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Events Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/107675-seasonal-items-and-structures/#findComment-1212447 Share on other sites
