Neither the water in Rog nor Hamlet clouds are a coincidence... They are all part if the same world connected by the Worthies... Rog a continental mass... Sw the tropical land.... Hamlet in higher ground.... All the same World.. Just different regions

I don't think the textures are a coincidence... I'm pretty sure they had the idea of expanding the dst world with more islands with naval mechanics long time ago.... And the cardboard water was a representation of it...

Again, there is no ocean in RoG, it's just a void, covered with a cardboard ocean texture..

And they didn't plan to add naval mechanics to RoG, because it wouldn't fit, none of the current biomes in RoG would make sense to have access to a sea/ocean,  that's why they created a whole new world for shipwrecked..

you arent wrong. the new ocean destroys the old gameplay. now you can just make a cheap boat and make evrywhere bridges. that was never intented to be cause it makes the biomes a joke. for example it was always hard to get from one biome to the next. if you base in oasis you have to walk a long way to glommer statue on full moon. now you can connect evry biome. makes lots of tasks a joke and makes items like beefalo, telecrator focus, lazy deserter and lazy explorer useless.

but we get new content and im pretty sure they will manage to balance evrything when its finish. we are just in beta dont forget. in this update they wanted to test the new ocean. they announced the first update will have very less new content
