Woodie isn't crazy otherwise he be insane in-game, it also kind of implies that "Lucy" was created (not a wife being trapped)

 

I thought this quote said something along the lines of “other than his whole hatred of birds” rather than “talks to his axe like it’s a person”. Do you happen to have a link to the actual quote? I don’t think I’ve actually seen the direct source myself.

Well I tried looking it up, and the link in the Don’t Starve wiki didn’t work. Though the wiki had the “other than talks to his axe” version, so maybe I’ve just had it wrong all this time XD who knows.

And secondly, the characters turn to her with a question, apparently expecting an answer from her.2.jpg.a8153861e8820fa39d6a89dc9c2e0b24.jpg3.jpg.8ebbe65d56ee8e50f2ab6b878a0ac866.jpg
It seems everyone can talk to her anyway.

And in the third, Lucy does not ask to find a way to save her from the spell that sharpened her with an axe and everyone calls her an axe, even Woody.
Looks like she was always an axe and that suits her.
