LoonyLulu
So, I've noticed something very nagging about production buildings (any building that converts a resource into a different resource) and that I'm always needing to double-check them to keep a steady supply and I think rather than having it be "Make X of this good" the buildings should instead be "Keep X amount of this available." For example, Curative Tablets. Instead of "Make 10 Curative Tablets" the production building and the duplicants operating it will be told, "Try to keep 10 Curative Tablets available for us." Food for thought that popped into my head while I was double-checking to make sure I'd actually queued up some Medicine Packs to be produced so my Medbay would actually be functional. Gurgel
Very good idea. You can rig something using automation for most tasks, but that is really just tedious effort.
Gwido
It's completely possible through automation. And it's not very hard to make.
LoonyLulu
"Possible through automation." doesn't mean "sensible". They're shooting for "Quality of Life" changes, yeah? Seems like Streamlining resource management and production would be a really nice "Quality of Life" improvement for the players.
Gwido
If every thing that can be automated is replaced by an integrated function, automation will be of no real use. "Quality of life" doesn't mean "easy game without any management to do".
SharraShimada
The problem ist, the production building does not store the materials. So i wont know how much is in storage. Therefore you build a smart-storage, link it via automation, and let the machine produce, until the storage tells it otherwise. Its simple to setup, it works, and its within the system. The only other solution would be storage inside the machines, and thats unrealistic.
