MoMuffins
Please make these actually sense the temperature around it and not itself. In real world applications, the material in the sensor is very sensitive to temperature change. The thermo sensor in this game is like a yo yo. It takes way too long to respond to the actual temperature change around it. If you intend to piggy back onto the mechanic of temperature exchange, you should make the thermo sensor a special class of its own with more rapid heat up/ cool down. Masterpintsman
Build one from wolframite and you'll (nearly) have what you seek.
MoMuffins
I'll test. I haven't used wolframite since the overheat bonus isn't in yet. I highly doubt we will continue to use ore as is and must smelt them. Thus I've been leery of using anything but gold amalgam and cuprite.

MoMuffins
High thermal conductivity.
Keyimin
I keep seeing people say to use wolframite for things, but every time I've used it, it overheats and blows up within seconds. Will have to test it again since latest patches.
Masterpintsman
It has low capacity and high conductivity, which makes it the currently best material for thermal sensors and (wire bridge) heat pipes.

MoMuffins
You can transfer heat between anything.
