SpoonyBardIV Posted November 12, 2018 Share Posted November 12, 2018 So I keep seeing posts referring to the Roc as a “boss”, but as of now it is just a minor inconvenience, due to the fact that it’s only purpose is to bring you to it’s nest. So my idea is that if you happen to already be in it’s nest when it spawns, it will get angry and attack the player, therefore initiating an actual boss fight. The fight would go something like this: in order to damage the Roc itself, one would have to attack the legs first. The legs would have no set amount of HP, rather they would need to be chopped with an axe in a similar fashion to Birchnut Treeguards, and would take 20 chops of an axe each. The legs would have an attack similar to that of Bigfoot, but with a shorter (maybe 1/2) attack delay. The legs would do 100 DMG per hit, and uproot/destroy any resources or structures they hit. Once both legs are chopped down, the Roc would fall over, allowing the head to be attacked. The head would have 3000 HP, and have 2 attacks. One of them would be an AOE bite attack dealing 150 DMG to all mobs in range. The other would be similar to the Goose/Goose’s honk. The Roc would make a screeching noise that would make the player drop their weapon, but as the Roc is much larger, the screech would be much louder, so it would also have the same effects as the Womant’s whistle. I’ve also noticed that the Roc has relatively large nostrils, so maybe it could have an attack similar to the Ewecus’s snot? Anyway, as the player attacks the head, the legs would have time to recover, and the Roc would be able to get back up and resume it’s stomping rampage. When the legs are fully recovered, they would have to be chopped down again, therefore repeating the entire process. To make the Roc worth fighting, it would have two drops: the stone egg would be one of them rather than simply sitting in the nest, and the other would be a Roc beak, which would be used to craft a Hamlet version of the old bell (10 uses instead of 3, due to the fact that the Roc would be harder to kill than Glommer, and instead of summoning Bigfoot it would summon another (albeit neutral) Roc to come stomp on things. I thought of this idea because of the sound the Roc’s feet make). So anyway, that is my idea for the Roc. tell me what you think! And if you actually notice they have some sort of creatures inside them so maybe they'd atatck you instead of legs just stomping or maybe both. The only problem I have is that what'd the head do while you're trying to attack legs. Would simply sit and allow yo uto do that. Because as head moves towards you the legs would back of meaning that if head would try to atatck you you wouldn't be really able to hit legs.
