Like all the sub categories, we'll be able to close this and expand upon it again. Closing this will hide all the sub category text and sub- sub category text, which will save TONS of room on the screen. babba Posted November 2, 2018 Share Posted November 2, 2018 Klei`s recommendation is 4 stacked up monitors so that one can expand all the resource list folders on the right side. In the debug mode I have one line of screen space left where I always try to decipher and select a type of debug item. Here is someones random setup from the internet, the right side monitor displays the resource list Wannabe ONI Tycoons, of course, love the instant resource overview. If I could display the resource list on to a dedicated monitor, that would be ace. Maybe a mod idea ? babba Posted November 5, 2018 Share Posted November 5, 2018 Apologies if I step on any bodies feet, I know this Factorio playstyle of mine may seem weird for traditional players. In the beginning, I was a "Normal" ONI player. Whatever game I seriously play, I tend to max everything out and take it all to the limit. The good thing is that some laggy things have been improved by Klei, after me complaining...So that benefits all players. I would love to play without debug, if it would be possible to trade resources. I havent complained about this, but if Im in hot curry 1 Million Scoville mode...I will bring up the issue that 100 AETN`s create dramatic pumping lag - Which means there is some processing spike if the player has 1 of those connected, but most will not notice. It just all adds up to the players lag and low fps. My next long term victim will be the game Anno 1800, if its a proper game this time ( nearly worked at the devs as head of QA long time ago ). A friend of mine ( casual player ) once shouted during a LAN session with me in 2008 as we were playing the brilliant "Sins of a Solar Empire"..."Yeah, maxing it all out tech tech tech boom mass destruction one zillion units, well clobber them all". I should have sensed then that someday there will be the "Idle Clicker Games Genre" on mobile, just leveling up for the sake of leveling up. At the time we where playing Company of Heroes1 mods during lunch break with a gazillion amount of units "To switch off" from games development. We played on weekends too, including melting a notebook battery by playing CoH1, it was burning hot and the battery flexed 15 degrees haha. Stability is really good with ONI, sometimes theres is a full few seconds freeze...But nearly always Klei`s game get out of these cpu jam lockups. Sometimes the game just goes within a second, without the crash reporting tool coming up. But its has become more rare, so thats good. Im just playing the game as a regular customer, to switch a bit off from life. Once we had to include achievements into a game, it was the worst game I ever worked on for several years ( will not tell more ), it was the 2nd time I worked with +100 staff. The Xbox achievements integration was really good and down to one good coder, but of course no customer cared at the end...As it was a terrible game. The game cost 10 million and played in 30000. My curry food is ready now, hot and spicy yumyum.
