Sasza22
Now that we got a manual gas bottler so we don`t have to connect pipes to everything that needs a small amount of gas we could use a special type of farm tile. It would have a large glass tube on top (or bottom) of it that would hold a small amount of gas. The gas wouldn`t move anywhere so the plant would have the atmosphere it needs all the time. this way you could easily farm balm lillies inside your base without the need to manage the chlorine moving around. You could use it to keep dusk caps in CO2 on top of the base instead of the bottom. You could protect sleet wheat from your flatulent farmers. Generally a QoL thing later in the game when glass is unlocked. yoakenashi
If I understand correctly, you are looking for a incubator for plants? I like that idea. Like a terrarium inside our greenhouse rooms. Good idea. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/97387-glass-tube-farm-tile/#findComment-1102507 Share on other sites

Like a terrarium inside our greenhouse rooms Pretty much. It`s just a plant that has it`s atmosphere unchanging but has to be delivered by a dupe. Downsides are the glass requirment, unable to feed dreckos and the farm tile having a 4x1 size so all types of plants fit in the glass. DraconicSiege
I really like the idea. Food production doesn't really get any upgraded technology late game. How much gas would it be able to hold? This won't matter for most plants, but for gas grass it does since it consumes chlorine. Sasza22
Actually now i think it could be just a glass tube as a separate building that you put on the farm tile. This way you could use it for both normal and hydroponic tiles. The tube itself would have an option to deliver gas. It would hold normal pressure (around 1500g/tile) that fits the requirements of plants.
