afetogbo
use 1400 degree igneous rock to make an insulated tile > tile is 45 degrees > deconstruct = 400kg igneous rock at 45 degrees. noticed this today. did a search and couldn't find it posted already. bug? beowulf2010
Side effect of intended behavior. They didn't want things built with 1,400 material to be that hot so they clamped the final temperature of constructed items to a small range that I'm sure someone with a better memory than me will post shortly. The Flying Fox
Yes, for what we know this is an intended function. The clamp is typically no lower then 15C and no higher then 45C. The reason given is that we can not tell our dupes the temperature of the materials to build things out of. So, they could just as easily grab a chunk of igneous rock that was freshly dug from jungle/caustic biome.. or from one of your volcanoes. Even with the clamp, having them accidentally deliver near melting igneous rock for an insulated gas pipe inside a regular tile and then not constructing it immediately can certainly produce issues if that wall is for a fish tank, for instance! Suddenly hot steam everywhere!
