FPS issue & optimization

Recommended Posts

I just downloaded the DLC a few hours ago and started playing, i noticed a lot of ''lag'' while playing the game, the FPS are just too low to the point where playing it is not quite possible, i know i play on a bad machine (laptop intel celeron CPU N3050 1.60 GHZ, 4 GB RAM 64 bits), but i'm able to run don't starve with RoG and SW installed and DST with no issues (can't play with caves tho, or at least can't play without lag with caves) also oxygen not included, and other games like darkest dungeon, and even resident evil 5 on steam with low settings, so here's my feedback on trying to try the new DLC and also a question:

i want to get this DLC as soon as it is released but i need to know if there's gonna be any changes to it so it runs with the same specs required to run the other 2 DLCs or is it going to be a DLC that requires more, so i consider it before buying it. Thanks in advance.

I'll leave two pics of where the fps drop a lot and another one where i get good/normal fps like in the regular DS experience close to the edge of the map, also the settings i use to play the game (even with a low resolution in this case i get bad fps in most places).219740_20181018220706_1.thumb.png.c8b9351291fdd152fbbeeb2dfd1e64a4.png219740_20181018221139_1.thumb.png.5eae8873f8d262d4e3d2c9e62515a6b1.png219740_20181018221009_1.thumb.png.f1c8bf2ce6c2e919412ba2a59211baa8.png219740_20181018221621_1.thumb.png.0f9eacf8d73a474aa0231d068bda3fca.png

Beta phase dude, it's super normal is like that, at Shipwrecked it was the same thing. But the only thing I ask myself is why are there so many active entities? With the Sw, RoG, DST, it is initially 250-300. I have a worse configuration than yours, I recommend the use of these mods, will optimize the game well:

I really hope so, i want to get this DLC first day of release, i tried the DS performance one but i didn't do anything other than making stuff go invisible around me or when i moved far away from them, yeah i see a lot of entities, but i know little about performance in games and stuff like that, my knowledge is limited to RAM and LAG lol :p i hope they optimize it so i'm able to play it in my little potato.

You no longer need the third one, my mod (the first link) handles that too.

i'm using the DS performance atm, also enabled netbook mode, it's helping a lot but i'm still at low fps, i reduced the entity or prefab (can't remember what it says) from 150 to 100, but again, i still get quite low fps, do you have any recommendations according to my specs that you can provide, what configuration from your mod should i use and also can i modify the game so it runs smoothly or should i just wait until they optimize it? i really hope they do because i'm loving this DLC lots and i really wanna play it with my potato, i ran DST yesterday and i get far lower entity count in there and it runs perfectly in my laptop, same with regular DS RoG and SW.
