EpicAlex Posted October 18, 2018 Share Posted October 18, 2018 Hey, I just watched the newest ONI animation, and I love the new, family friendly content that's here (I'm gonna do something stupid later) However, I have 1 question, Klei... What's with the deflector shield? I know the planets desolate now, but whaaaat?! We can't go to the planet in the background!? This sucks; I'm not gonna play another Klei game (I'm kidding; god I love two of your games and an upcoming dlc). But will we really have to need the Metal Planet Weapon from Planetary Annihilation to bust open the planet to explore? (Sekoj) Also, Klei, will you complete the game or will it be forever in Early Access? Gurgel Posted October 19, 2018 Share Posted October 19, 2018 My take is that Earth was overrun by a plague of dupes coming from Gravitas due to some programming error that also killed every human in the facility and made it impossible to enter. The only chance they had is nuking Gravitas into space and closing off the planet. Did it start a chain reaction that blew earth to pieces? Possibly. But who could have survived that? Are those humans that build the forcefield to protect themselves from parts of the planet falling back? Are those aliens that mine the remains of the planet? Are those other dupes spawned from similar printing pods that survived the explosion? Hard to tell. We need more information.
