How to measure temp above 300°C

Recommended Posts

the first question is for what?

If you want to melt regolith you can use any rock (except abbysalite, or obsidian) whit a liquid sensor (when the sandstone melt activate the liquid sensor, when is cold and goes solid, it doesn't activate) or iron (1535 degrees melting temp)

If you want to convert oil to natural gas or petroleum, a chlorine sensor it will be fine

Take a look at this one, chlorine sensors explained there. Basically it uses the properties of chlorine in order to measure temperatures over 300C

I saw how he built it and stuff but am still confused as to the theory?

Is simple. All the pipe is abbysalite except one segment o pipe which is ceramic. (after the upgrade build whit the new isolation material) Whit wizzworth mentain the temp contant let say 0 degrees. The chlorine go whit 0 degrees in the abbysalite pipe and when reach the ceramic pipe absorb some of the heat of the liquid. Ex.. go whit 0 degrees after exit the ceramic segment have 60 degrees at 600 exterior liquid temp. So if you want to close the door at 700 degrees...(700 x 60)/60 = 70 degree sensor temp setting... and so on...

I important to set the time of the pachet of gas i such way that the ceramic pipe  segment have time to reach again the temp of the exterior liquid, and also the temp whit the chlorine goes must be constant.

So the chlorine passing through the liquid will always gain 1/10 of the temperature?

No is only an example. It can be: from 0 at  604 degrees exterior temp, reach 41 degrees.. if you want 700 degrees = (700 x 41) /604 = 47,51 degrees

Nop you use the gas pipe sensor to command the input of heat...(3 door, the middle commanded by the sensor), use math to figure the temperature you want to stop the heating of oil. The goal is to heat the oil enough to transform in petroleum but not to much for obtaining sarin gas...

I don't bother whit that. I prefer in my current gameplay to use the rafinery, I have already to much oil in the map. After finish it i will use the oil well (never use it until now) for more oil...
