Madbro’s Mechanic Pack - Part 1

Hello, greatest developers and players! (•ω•)/

FINALLY I can find some time for creating new ideas for this awesome game.

And now back with the Madbro’s Mechanic Pack I announced months ago.

Ugly proyotype blueprints provided :)

 

1. Volatiles management

Problems with volatiles like slimes are troubles. Ordinary storages can’t avoid leaking of gas.

On the other hand, some volatiles can be used for generating useful gases like bleach stone into chlorine for killing germs. But I think they vaporizes too slow - I mean not efficiently.

So in this part I will introduce two ideas - Vaccum storage and Volatiles vaporizer.

 

Vaccum storage requires slightly 20 watt power to keep the volatiles from vaporizing.  And cost 400 refined metal. (Actually I should rename it as High-Pressure Storage or sth.)

Volatile vaporizer can vaporize your volatiles safely and efficiently. 2kg of volatiles can be vaporized in 1 second while the gases are stored in its temporary gas can. Outputs are transported in ventillation system.

 

2. Out of dirt? No problem bro!

Dirt farming is a high cost stuff - Uses (lots of) morbs, pufts and pecus (and finally dirty dirts are connverted in compost) if you want endless dirt supply for planting mealwood on a huge scale.

Composts need to be manually operated - That will waste your farmers’ time for harvesting.

I think this game should have a decomposing machine for it.

You know what I mean. A Decomposer.

Decomposer requires electricity to operate (automatically without manual operation except filling it with wastes). It converts not just wastes (auto), all organic stuff can also be converted (need further order). It operates 3 times faster than a compost.

 

3. Nuclear age (?)

Uranium - one of the most awesome element in the galaxy. Why this game doesn’t have this?

Quickly introduce three ideas - Centrifuge, Radioactives storage and Small nuclear boiler.

Centrifige converts raw uranium into mainly U-235 and a trace amount of U-238.

Radioactives storage stores all radioactive stuff without leaking radiation.

Small nuclear boiler takes in a steadly stream of water and use U-238 as fuel. Generates lots of hot steam.

 

4. Intruders (possible DLC content)

This game lacks events. Only meteor showers is not enough.

Plus, no aggressive creatures.

So my idea is outer-space intruders in saucers. Roams in the space biome and periodically (10 cycles) comes more. Drops 1 Saucer scrap (sometimes along with food) upon take-down.

Saucer scrap can be forged into Alien Steel - super duable and extremely heat resistant. Or consider Titanium.

 

5. Other stuff

Just some improvements on ordinery appliences.

Conveyor shutter can block the conveyor path for avoiding overflowing of resources.

Item filter - I think I don’t have to explain how to use it in conveyor system?

Hyper pumps (Gas and liquid respectively) are made of refined metal. Highly heat resistant (depends on what you are using, but you can use steel) and more efficient (2 times faster than ordinery pumps).

I like the intruder idea. They could start invading when you send rockets to space and metal they drop could be a replacement for steel. Maybe there could be an unknown destination where you could harvest refined metals and alien steel but it would cause aliens to appear shortly after the rocket is back. Maybe they could steal resources of some kind, like organics. If you leave some organic stuff on the surface they would just pick it up and fly away.

An advanced storage is something we need i think. It would be a fully sealed storage container loaded by conveyor systems.

A furnace to make dirt out of organics would be nice. It could be maybe used also to make phosphorus out of phosphorite.

Good idea for the vaporizer.

But I don't really understand why the storage should use energy. It's just a matter of sealing. So why not making a special storage with plastic in it's recipe to prevent gases from licking out. ;)

Nice idea. It would be a good alternative, in late game. :)

No nuclear power in this game !! Ever !!

It's explained in the lore that the team of Gravitas don't want to use this type of dangerous energy. ;)

Sorry.

But why not introducing a gameplay to seal uraniums deposit and prevent radiations all over the base. ;)

I Like this. And Sasza suggestions are good. :)
