jfc
Just started working on my Natural gas power system and I don't understand why is there Heavy watt wire and heavy conductive wire, both have 20kW, same thing for the joint
Steve Raptor
The conductive ones has less severe decor penalty (although its still large)...
Xenologist
Simple. The joint plate for the heavi watt wire (Conductive) is 100 kg less of metal, and doesn't harm decor as badly

0xFADE
There is a late game point where you transition to unrefined metals being scarce. It is also significantly less ugly. Mainly the distance of the debuff is reduced.
hacksaw12
Once you reach the space biome, you have an almost limitless supply of refined iron. At this point it might be a good idea to rewire any heavy watt wire, since deconstruction returns 100% of material, to reclaim the unrefined metal.
