Ribotics and high tech !

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

Automation can be advanced into robotics and high tech. Consider that?

When we have logistic robots, workers can focus on their works. (But makes delivary men useless.)

If we can make cooking easy and high-tech, why not use auto-meal maker.

By the way you can add more recipes, like burgers? :)

For some extreme workplaces (especially damn hot smelting factories), worker bots may be useful? (Oh, I think this can be solved by logistic system instead but that’s just suggestions.)

Ok, I think those are for super researches like space transports. Left this for tertiary research devices (if you plan to have this?)

Sorry typing error for title!

Some around here just play too much modded rimworld, get sick of it and hope ONI becomes like it. I dont get it :/

Perhaps I missed something, but what does Rimworld have to do with @Madbro's suggestion?

There are self-motivated human-like things that do the same thing, and as a plus side, it is unlocked from the start!

And there are machines that refine metal ore into refined metal, but that doesn't mean glossy dreckos can't be a worthwhile addition to the game.

This should all be made doable by some additions to the automation system the game already has. I like the fact that certain machines and tasks need duplicants to do the job, but some things need expanding I think:

- A machine that somehow cares for critters, by playing with them or something similar, raising their happiness just enough so they can continue laying eggs (at a reduced rate maybe) and metabolize a bit more food than ungroomed, so we can have fully automatic critter farms that do however require more critters and thus more space in total for the same amount of metabolism

- A device to automatically dig non-constructed tiles to save the player from having to manually assign all the regolith to be dug after a meteor shower, this device could consume refined iron or steel (renewable due to meteors) to "replace damaged parts of it's drill" or use hydrochloric acid formed by combining hydrogen and chlorine somehow (maybe it could consume both via separate inputs?). Yes I know there's an exploit with doors that we can do, but it feels kinda overkill for just trying to get some solar power without having to assign dig orders every 5 cycles. This could also make for some automated pwater->dirt cooking systems, quite useful and fitting in theme overall imo.

- Filters, shutoffs and sensors for conveyor rails, similar to their gas and liquid counterparts. We can kinda do that already by unloading and reloading the materials into different conveyor loaders, but it feels unnecessarily complicated and space/time consuming to do for every single line where I want to have more than one item type on a conveyor rail.
