Lilalaunekuh
Hello guys, just tinkering with a neat fully automated food production "module" (I like to build closed systems with just energy input and some kind of ouput^^). So just some facts and principles behind my approach: -There are 2 ways to generate food without duplicant interaction: a) Build farms and wait for the food to drop naturally (double the normal harvest time) b) You can cook raw eggs just by heating them. - I have a drecko stable with balm lillies to produce "infinite" phosphorite. - I got max sized shine bug stables with 4-5 bugs living there (my eggs are sorted to prevent (un-)lucky nega/crystal shine bug spawns) - I can harvest a bit power using solar panels inside my shine bug stables^^ => So the last missing part would be a small sized "egg cooker" So did someone already tinkered with a volcano/geyser and duplicant interaction free cooker ? (Want to be able to build it anywhere and I want to minimize the power input) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/93245-food-production-without-duplicants/ Share on other sites
Neotuck
The only problem with auto farming by waiting for the crops to drop naturally is you will need almost double the resources to grow them (water for bristles, dirt for sleet wheat, slime for dust caps) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/93245-food-production-without-duplicants/#findComment-1060824 Share on other sites

Lilalaunekuh
You need to heat up raw eggs ^^ => You need a place for your eggs to "spoil" and crack (it´s just a substitute for cooking the egg not cracking it^^) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/93245-food-production-without-duplicants/#findComment-1060832 Share on other sites

Lilalaunekuh
Can deliver some if you want but nothing special: - any room with dreckos on a "island of farm tiles" can produce infinite phosphorite nothing special or worth to show^^ (Just a room full of chlorine with 2 autosweepers one above and one below the farm tiles) - for my bugs I build a long room with just 4 height (so not really optimized or polished to show as something special^^) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/93245-food-production-without-duplicants/#findComment-1060948 Share on other sites
blash365
I am more interested in the automation part of it. And on how you got wild dreckos/shine bugs into a stable. Moving the eggs;) (Build a storage compactor just to sweep the eggs and when eggs are inside I deconstruct the storage compactor) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/93245-food-production-without-duplicants/#findComment-1061386 Share on other sites

You can also just uncheck the eggs from the storage compactor and they will be dropped, if you no longer have access to the compactor. Most of the time my stables are a "build and forget" kind of thing (for wild critters at least^^) So I try to reclaim everything unnecessary before I seal my rooms. (But if I want a couple eggs inside one stable I always uncheck/check my selected egg type, so my eggs don´t spoil while I wait for more eggs^^) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/93245-food-production-without-duplicants/#findComment-1062126 Share on other sites
