Is there a way to do fully automated egg ranching?

Recommended Posts

It depends, I use this set-up. All eggs in the right chamber get stored and crack on their own. any that land on the left will hatch which helps keep your population up.

If you aint worried about the population of your cirtters you can just have multiple egg crackers and set each one to crack its own egg constantly

How did u make them incubate? I, keeping in mind that they do not do it inside containers, built an infinite loop of 8 tiles of transport belts + bridges. So what I have is 8 eggs infinitely loop inside it, while leftovers are sent to cooking station.

Like how do you build infinite loops? I tried it in sadbox mode, but at some point they either get stuck or magically delivered.

Just wrangle them in, any that land on the left chambers will incubate naturally. Any that land on the right will be swept away and never incubate

Build a looped rectangle with at least one bridge in the loop. This will keep anything that goes into the loop constantly going around.

Build a bridge which connects to this loop this will be the only entry point. and thats it :)

Ive set my drecko ranch up this way, they incubate at the very bottom of the building and get flooded by water and the meat is transfered to the fridge, the measure plate counts how many eggs will incubate at any time. The whole ranch is fully automated except care and sheering, but every good gets delivered in and outside

How does it work? And why do I see a lot of locked doors in all of these automation pics here?

the lower sweeper checks every few seconds if theres an egg to pick up, in case max weight of pressure plate isnt hit, it can only reach the storage at the bottom. if max weight is reached the airlock closes and the sweeper cant even reach this one. if more eggs can be stored at the ground to incubate the automation gives enough time to pick up the egg but not to store it, it turns off right before and the egg drops on the pressure plate. the upper sweeper can only reach the storages on top for dirt, store phosphor platic aso. the flooding is activated by a timer that activates once per cycle

the sweepers can work through window tiles and those doors, i used them cause gases can pass through
