Bae Kunawa
Hello everyone! I understand that the meta right now appears to be "finish in 7 dishes or less" and/or "finish with the least number of people". However, I want to go the other way. I noticed that in the recipe book released by klei (https://forums.kleientertainment.com/gorge-recipe-book/), scrolling down reveals not the fastest time or least number of cravings satisfied, but the longest time and most number of cravings satisfied. (Edit: Example: The longest run as of this time of writing is 1 hour, six minutes, 10 seconds with 68 fulfilled cravings [and 1 missed].) I was wondering what strategies, knowledge, skills, (attitudes?) one needs to get to that level. Is there anyone on the forums currently working on runs like that? If so, any feedback on how the experience is would be great. And of course, tips. Cheers! Bae K. ItsPizzaTime
I'm sure it has to do with lots of premaking and knowing what possible cravings will be next and just being prepared. Making the maw wait obviously lowers the bar so they must be super prepared for every meal, stocked in every way for every possible meal at all times. With a good enough team and no one slacking at all I can see it being done. Making a list of the important things that always need to be on hand and making sure that they are always in stock is probably the most important aspect of saving time. Yeah I was thinking it'd be this. I bet they're people who know each other or something. I wonder if stocking in the usual sense will work though, given the rate of spoilage in the gorge. I speculate also that the characters are limited: it seems they all use at least woodie and winona. Loredore
i havent gone for a really long run, but salt every dish even if full green icon and i think it gives a little tiny bit of time? also to get to real endgame amounts i imagine they're farming crops hardcore and catching(are pigeons limited?) or buying pigeon meat after everything runs out. rabbits are limited & you don't want to kill beefalo because you need constant source of poop after wood runs out. this is assuming things don't grow back after a long time(i've never seen it) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91986-maximising-cravings-satisfied/#findComment-1051166 Share on other sites
ItsPizzaTime
Stressing run, this should put us at 13th place (at the time of reading leaderboard). We could have optimized a few more things, and our poor Woodie was so tired at 3am I'm surprised we did so well. Amazing teamates and good run. Amiexa
Check out the Leaderboard, korean team did 3 hours run. Seems they even keeping the fuel stock as much they could and use them carefully. No idea what happen to the 3rd team though. Loredore
5 hours ago, MrBlei said: if u tap all trees sap has 2* the fuelvalue of wood it seems (2 sap to max flame) is ruined sap and sap the same fuel amount? i havent harvested ruined sap and left the tappers on the rotten trees before, i always retap so im not sure about if it continues to produce ruined sap after the first rot? also you'd need to use at least some syrup for dessert rounds unless you only do carrot cake(or any other crop & milk only dessert?), so that might limit the fuel amount, someone would have to test both ways to see which is more efficient Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91986-maximising-cravings-satisfied/#findComment-1051503 Share on other sites
