Egg (shell) managment

Recommended Posts

Did egg micro management actually fully go away? If I want to maintain X creatures in a stable, can I set up an incubator and an egg storage w/o having to do manual adjustments now, while providing constant egg production (no 'expecting'/'overcrowded')? Doesn't the new change to storing eggs actually mean that it is impossible to set up automation to steer the population (like the water clock one)?

For auto-wrangable critters: Yes

For auto-wrangable critters: Yes, but not at the maximum number of critters that you could have in a stable (at max critter count you would have a bit lower production for the time till you sweep a new egg)

The old way could have some flaws now (you could have eggs that aren´t able to incubate anymore)

Oh I missed that autowrangle feature. But I still don't really get it. When I have a stable with autowrangle (space required - 1) set up and a separate breeding room, then my breeding room still wont see if my critter number in the stable is < max - 1 or not. So I still need a water clock or something to maintain a number of critters in the stable while having max (cookable) eggs production because my incubator will produce too many critters.

It's not exactly working for me either. I had a stable with 1 hatch, autowrangle on, 1 critter. As soon as the hatch layed the first egg, the hatch was wrangled and put somewhere else.

While i can think of scenarios, where you want to remove critters from your stable, once they layed an egg, i can also think of scenarios, where you want your critters to stay and the eggs to be removed.

I think we need more options for the autowrangle feature:

* wrangle only adults/babies/"eggs"

* wrangle critters above max age

* prefer wild/tame when wrangling

That´s close to my idea, a "one critter stable" that keeps one critter/egg alive. Now I end up with critter beeing wrangled att ~60% of their life cycle.

Now I build a bigger "working" stable where I dump my wrangled critters.
