MrBetaSkull
Lately, I have become careless about the slime lung if deodorizers have been unlocked in my research. I am however curious about how it all works specifically. As per tests, it seems the deodorizer does not need to have polluted oxygen right on top of it, and it still cleans the air in the room in general. My question is, do they have a cleaning range or how do they actually work? I hade a field of cut slime lung in about 20 tiles and 1 deodorizer. It took about 1-2 cycle and most germs were gone. What about Algae Terrarium, is that the same thing or what? Can someone please tell me or conduct further tests on this, as I am unsure what to think of it. BlueLance
If I remember correctly it absorbs the tiles adjacent to it, and yeah one of them can clear out entire ares because the polluted oxygen floats amongst the normal oxygen so it just randomly encounters it. Slimelung will also die off because of the oxygen etc. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91063-does-air-cleaners-have-range-or-how/#findComment-1037862 Share on other sites
medicdude
It seems they will suck air within 1 tile away (3x3 area centered on deodorizer), but the polluted air itself will move around and circulate like other gasses: it moves freely horizontally and will tend to rise above the heavier gasses natgas, chlorine, and co 2. Over a long period of time it will rise above regular oxygen. Most of the slime lung comes from po emitted by the slime, and can be mitigated by quickly picking up the slime after mining and consolidating into compactor. If you let the slime sit and off gas you will end up with lots of slime lung. One strategy is to fill the bottom of a slime area with some chlorine and mine upwards vertically using ladders; the slime will fall to the bottom and be quickly disinfected, resulting in minimal slime lung. Just putting it in a Compactor is not enough, I'm afraid. To prevent off-gasing of either Slime into P-O2 or Bleach Stone into Chlorine, you must store it underwater, or in a room pressurized to > 1800 g. Similar rule for open pools of P-H2O -- it can't off-gas if the pressure is over 1800 g. I think it's an exploit. 16 minutes ago, Lilalaunekuh said: But pumps mini pumps have just 1 spot and normal 2 spots where they detect liquid. They have same range. As you can see, this mini pump works well without contact with gas directly Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91063-does-air-cleaners-have-range-or-how/#findComment-1037889 Share on other sites
Lilalaunekuh
Sry i meant if i place a pump like you 36 minutes ago, Lilalaunekuh said: 41 minutes ago, R9MX4 said: Mini/Big Liquid/Gas pump. range=2 But pumps mini pumps have just 1 spot and normal 2 spots where they detect liquid. => liquid pump range to detect liquid^^ (my fault) Yeah your right considering gas pumps^^ Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91063-does-air-cleaners-have-range-or-how/#findComment-1037892 Share on other sites
FIXBUGFIXBUGFIX
Just now, Lilalaunekuh said: Sry i meant if i place a pump like you => liquid pump range to detect liquid^^ (my fault) Yeah your right considering gas pumps^^ I have a crazy and ridiculous guess. The detect and absorb ranges are different. <——range 2 The red zone is absorb range, and the blue is detect range. I confirmed it in mini gas pump. pump range.sav At first, the mini pump can't absorb any gas because there is no gas in it's detect range Then I let hydrogen go to it's detect range. It begins to work, and not only absorb hydrogen, but also CO2, which is not in it's detect range. Lilalaunekuh
I can confirm your theory about detect and absorb range beeing different properties for liquid pumps and small gas pumps. (Can say anything about the normal gas pumps) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91063-does-air-cleaners-have-range-or-how/#findComment-1037896 Share on other sites
MrBetaSkull
All this information is quite interesting and has a lot of variables to think about when actually making the things. Thanks!
