duplicant eating requirements question

do dupes have to always eat once a day? it says they need 1000kcals. so if they had a pepper bread thats 4000kcals. does that satisfy their hunger for 4 days or would they have to eat 4 pepper breads no matter what?

trying to come up to  a solution to the best way to cook food early-mid game.

a dupe's total kcal count is 4000 and lose 1000 per cycle (1500 with bottomless stomach)

every time a dupe's kcal gets below 2000 the dupe will get hungry, when it reaches a fridge or ration box it will take only enough food to reach 4000kcal if available so about 2000kcal of pepper bread leaving about 2000kcal leftovers behind  

This is an average estimate as a dupe will burn a few extra calories as it runs to the mess hall and eat so you will never see a dupe reach the 4000kcal total or go over.

best thing to plan is you need to produce about 1000kcal of food per dupe every cycle to sustain them (or 1500kcal if bottomless stomach)

They just eat a portion of the pepper bread reducing the kcals by 1000.

so yes, one pepper bread lasts for 4 days

Fun fact if dupe eats food with quality = 5, like BBQ or pepper bread, they will get stress reduction buff and athletics debuff, so if you don't care about stress, cook frost buns
