Exosuit Management - Check Out Indicator Desired

Recommended Posts

So I currently have this issue with exosuit docks. When I see one empty I'm not sure if a suit needs to be delivered or if its just because a dupe has taken a suit and will return it later. So I would like to request that some sort of indicator be made so we know if its checked out or simply lacking a suit.

Side note (Multiple Entrances) The docks will indicate when built that they need a suit but after that they don';t seem to do this at all. Some of my dupes are going through one entrance then returning through another and leaving suits on the floor when there is no space so suit management is a bit of a mess for me right now.

The problem you are having with dupes leaving with exosuits and dropping them on the floor when returning to another entrance can be solved by ensuring that exploration areas don't cross over or have branching connections. A bit of a logistics and planning problem. I agree that it would be awesome if dupes would ALWAYS return to the entrance they left through, or have an automatically assigned task to return exosuits to their designated station.

A simple solution Klei could implement for distinguishing between a station with no exosuit and one with an exosuit in use would be to have the docking station darkened when no suit is available, like how storage compactors work when no storage types are assigned.

The exosuit checkpoint has a toggle-able option for "Clearance." If it is set to "Always Permitted" then the dupes leave their suits on the ground and always go through the checkpoint. If set to "Vacancy" they only enter the checkpoint if there is room to store their suit. This way they don't drop their suits all on at one checkpoint and leave your others empty.
