thanks for the quick reply guys. but how the eff am i suppose to get slicksters to where i want to eh. The traps melt fast as eff

Store your plastic in a cold place; that way, the traps will be colder when built.

Also, don't build them in oil puddles; oil will heat them up very quickly. If you build them on dry ground surrounded by CO2 (which has pretty low conductivity), they should last long enough. Finally, if you place them intelligently (close to the slickster you want to catch), it'll be faster.

It shouldn't be necessary, but if you're still having difficulty, you can physically trap the slicksters in a small area by building walls around them and bringing them in until the slicksters are confined to a very small space, at which point you can basically just build the trap directly on top of them.

Try digging out in both directions at the top of the Oil fields if you havent already. Quite often there are higher caves with a slickster inside, and higher means lower temperature. That was how I managed it. Another tactic I used was to build steps for slickster to move up (1 tile high), so you can capture them out of the oil, which is cooler.

Remember you only need one to start a farm, then you can breed them with eggs.
