Spaaaaace Maaaaadness

You know the lonely rock your dupes are on is so tiny and sad they don't get real sunlight and  fresh air is hard to come by at times also it's cramped and enclosed also being around people with no way to get away can be kinda annoying one could it might drive you mad. I was thinking what would it really be like to be in space for an extended amount of time in an enclosed space I assume if you have no real sunlight or way to get away from others you might get annoyed and over time it might drive you mad I'd love to see a mechanic where your dupes go a little or a lot nuts you'd have to give them hobbies to keep them sane and if they get space madness (depending on the level) they might sabotage things or ooze other dupes (this could be turned off).

 

The oozings would be silly like  being  swirlyed or eaten by a plant if a dupe is mad they can be quarantined till they are sane again but would have a higher rate of going mad later. Also once you have too many dupes who have gone mad paranoia would set in for the others and make it harder for them to do their jobs you'd have to give them therapy to help them cope ( once again this could be turned off.) So that's it if you think this is a good or bad idea let me know I though it might be fun way to add more of a challenge to the game.

Try it, void suck all gass, but properties seems to be change recently, they don't suck material or animal and you can't see the difference between oxygen and void (before void was like a black hole and look black, but nobody see it in the game so i think dev do test on it without telling us

Would actually be an interesting scenario to have ONI as simulation inside a spaceship. Current jobs are extended by captain and security and random events may happen like meteor showers with hull breaches, germ outbreaks or creatures fled from the cargo bay.

Maybe it's the meaning of the "space tech" dev talk about, begin on the asteroids and finish in a space ship (so you need to renew all your waste, could be a really big challenge)

Sounds like trying to recycle Don't Starve mechanics of sanity meter.  I'm not really feeling that it adds anything to the game that is not already part of Stress system or that could be easily added to the stress system.  Adding new source of stress from lack of light, small spaces, or lack of social contact is all that's needed and I can get behind that without the Ren & Stimpy reference.

It's ok I only semi-serious, I didn't actually expect most folks to know every episode.  I personally consider Ren & Stimpy to have been an highly original and very influential cartoon which started the Nickelodeon networks modern animation trend which produced the market confidence for Cartoon Network to exist initially just doing syndication of classic cartoons followed by production of arguably the highest quality original content in America.  So virtually all original American cartoons now owe a debt to R&S.
