Lilalaunekuh
Advanced mode is the just a mode without the "hidden" priotities. Mean your dupes will just select the NEAREST job, which got a) the higest priority (for that dupe) and b) is not obstruced. But i would love the know which jobs will be prioritized in the normal mode, but not enough time to test every interaction. (maybe if someone would create a opportunity for each task and set all to 5 and would write the execution order down^^) TLDR: If you got many dupes a job selection just depending on shortes traveling distance is preverable (Advanced mode). I believe that if hidden priorities are on, the task type gives the task additional "fractional" sub-priority level. Such as if there's sub-priority 5 digging task right next to him, and sub-priority 5 cooking job across the map, the dupe will go cooking. It used to match the order of tasks in the priorities window, from left (highest) to right (lowest). If you switch it off, sub-priority is where things end before proximity takes over. Particularly building was usually coming before digging. But during the occupations update, at least for some time, same priority tasks were evaluated by proximity and there was no preference to building over digging or vice versa. I remember I was testing it. I think now you achieve the same if you switch hidden priorities off. Well, without any jobs priority changes, my dup is running on a sub-priority "6" hamster wheel despite being above the trigger for message table. Annoying I can't set the message table priority but it is not top of the list.
