Priorities specification - split tidying and switch flipping!(etc. etc.)

Recommended Posts

Hello,

It would be very nice to have specific priorities for possibly urgent task(as for flipping switches / changing flow rate) that do not fall into the tidy category.

I was trying to force duplicants to flip a switch (with priority 9) and had to find out that it falls under tidy category(should not it be rather operate?) and that it requires really to be almost highest set priority for dupes to get to it. And then you just have to wait until they clean the toilets, mop the spills, disinfect, clean and sweep all those that had also high specific priority. I know, i know, my bad for setting target priorities. But that flip a switch task can and will kill your colony in case of flowing magma. Clogged toilet usually does not.

Same problem a while later, trying to change flow rate on valve.

And a bit later with door.

Et cetera et cetera.

Best Regards

I don't think we need a whole new job category for it.  Also adjusting valve settings, and enabling and disabling equipment should be grouped with switches, I've noticed that these are being ignored a lot in the current build.

I'd love to see a special "sub-priority" that overrides priority settings for emergencies, and other short term urgencies so you don't have to change your priorities and make sure you change them back properly.

Yes like when a dup gets his head stuck in a tile and you are trying to get someone to go destroy it asap and instead they are mopping....
