yes. That setting only affects the worldgen, not existing worlds, so you have to regenerate the cave world. If you only regenerate the cave world make sure you don't have players left in the "cave world" before regenerating. Not sure what could happen. (You might find yourself outside of the map, inside a bunch of monkeys, etc. on the newly generated world.)

Whoops, totally didn't read properly what machete posted. It's supposed to go into your worldgenoverride.lua. There's no leveldataoverride.lua.

I thought worldgenoverride.lua was deprecated long ago. I remember running into issues when trying to implement my dedicated server, then after smashing my head on the wall some research I figured I should use leveldataoverride.lua instead and that works perfectly.

Hm, never used or heard of it. I always used the good old worldgenoverride.lua following this guide, and never had any issues so far.

Yeah, that's odd. I thought it didn't work anymore, but maybe they kept it as a backwards compatibility. 

If you host a server from the game client a leveldataoverride.lua will be generated with the world settings for both Caves and Master:
