Tab1
Someone please help me understand what is power transformer charge loss and what are the joules? Am i wasting more than 50% of my power generated as per the report or is the report inaccurate? Each transformer is under 1KW load. Let me know if any other info is needed. I hate inefficiencies like this....... Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87676-power-transformer-charge-loss/ Share on other sites
Lutzkhie
joules is energy, or equivalent to watt-second transformer, lowers the output power to 1kW (but can provide up to 4kW) to prevent overloading i think battery should go first before transformer Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87676-power-transformer-charge-loss/#findComment-1004920 Share on other sites
Tab1
Battery is before and also after transformer Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87676-power-transformer-charge-loss/#findComment-1004922 Share on other sites

More likely that "loss" is equal to the energy that flowed from transformer to machines down circuit. And has simply not got a field in the reports yet. So ur saying my actual loss is only 100KJ?(PIC 1) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87676-power-transformer-charge-loss/#findComment-1004942 Share on other sites

The total loss is those last three lines. There should be no power wasted related to transformers at all, they have no power runoff. This was bugging me a lot like im wasting a ton of coal. Can anyone else confirm? Well, you may actually be wasting a lot of coal,... they have automation ports now, and can easily be doubled up and shut off via a smart battery. Tab1
Sorry for posting off topic but i had another related question. What things are needed to qualify as a power plant room? What things are needed to qualify as a power plant room? Any room tooltips can be found in room overlay. Powerplant is generator(s) and power station within certain room size. You might want to think twice about building it though. Power station uses metal, it is finite resource and you are unable to tell them what metal to use. It can be used as temporary buff for young base, but is unusable in a long term, especially once you start mining rare wolframite and they start happily destroying it. The Plum Gate
Power plant room - power station is required. Seems like they use whatever refined metal you have the most of ( a default similar to build resource selection? ). This could use some tuning - for sure. Which is why I always keep a large supply of Iron. PhailRaptor
Does the Power Station have any passive effect on the room, or is it JUST the michrochips and generator tuning? The tooltip indicates that the former could be true, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it is actually the latter.
