ONI loosing player creative - experimental - freedom / Geyser example

Hi!
I have to complain, that it feels for me, that i as a oni-player lost some creative freedom. I loved to experiment and to search for alternative solutions, but at that point, ONI gets more and more boring for me.
Forget one moment the debugtool, i talk about standard gameplay (without debug) and geyser cooling.

With occupational upgrade, there is a barrier/limit, based on fresh water, you have access to (forget one moment the other options). There are 2 water geysers on map, thats a set factor for basesize in every generated map.
You need an option, to cool down the geyser water, without reducing flow. I end now always doing it "Borg Cube style". Small variations in shape, but the mechanic stays always the same, because efficiency is good.
I don't like that limitation. There are other limitations now in the game and i don't really like that.
Edit: The usage of borg cube leads to next problem - power..
When no NG geyser is in reach..
@Saturnus you as the father of the borgcube design (so far i know), found you other variations, or seems cooling water, to be a one way road?
With the new preview update it's a pain to bring ice to the geysers, when they far away. Most ice melting on the way (dropped again and again)

With all due respect, I do not agree sir/madam. ;) For me, every time I think I have this game handled, an upgrade comes out and I have to be more creative. For instance, one area it used to be 'okay' to slack in was food, just spam mealwood till the cows come home. Now they have changed it so you are forced to diversify- and early or be prepared to loose productivity to the massage table. That's just one example and I think there are tons of ways to get creative, maybe check out Brothgar's channel on youtube? He's always got something science-y and creative going on if you need inspiration. I love the direction the game is going, not to mention the hats... :)

But everything sciency and creative has now been completely broken.  getting a base into position to do anything sciency takes forever, then getting the dupes to build the science takes even longer.  Its not a game of experimentation anymore, its a pidgeon holing :Fit this room here, 10 bathrooms of 1sink/1toilet spread evenly, You've got 2 fresh water gyesers and a super cooler for enough water to feed and provide air to atleast 40 dupes forever.  But theres nothing to experiment.  They hjard coded a break over cooking, and cooling doesn't do anything fun beyond lox.... anyone super cool a door lately?
