Early game basic algae production

Recommended Posts

Just a little thought for a pretty simple addition for the early game - the "Agricultural Algae farm" - or some other less hideous name.

following this thread :

It struck me that a simple, balanced way of generating small amounts of algae might be a nice addition to ease the learning curve for new players, and also ease the need to delve straight into slime biomes.

Could be easily balanced by growth time, heat output, etc - I was thinking a snowglobe-like orb with a big bulb over the top of it, and a tiny twitching clump of algae :D Maybe the lamp costs a small amount of power and outputs a little heat for a few kg's of algae per day? Maybe it needs a cuddle off a dupe to help it grow too....

Just an idea.

I once posted an idea of Algae cultivation
My suggestion back then:

Everyone who relys on Algae, even in endgame knows, how to get Algae from Slime, but since Klei made Oni not a One way game, I thought about adding other solutions to make Algae or, like in my way, grow in in Tubes/pipes made out of glass (would come with an actual use for glass)
This way we would need a new machine with water supply so it can constanly be provided with water and a slot or vent to be build at the end so the Algae can drop out.
Also I would say that you can build as many tubes/pipes to contain Algae as you want, more tubes/pipes, more Algae but also need more Water and (a good downside) since the tubes/pipes are so thick (thick like one tile), they cant be build in tiles, so you need more space too

End

I also came up with an idea of Pacu, a fish that is already in the files and that lives in water and produces fertilizer, would need to eat Algae to do that, so the whole thing wouldnt be too OP since you would need to decide what way you are going, Algae terrarium or feeding fish (Pacu) for fertilizer

Here is the whole Suggestion
