More cooling unility items or means to reduce temperature

Recommended Posts

It's kind of baffling that only cooling item have to be operated manually and there is no other way to reduce temperature via special mechanism.

I mean, even electric fan would do. We have wheezeworts but it is logical to have at least some cooling stuff, that does not require constant dupe operation.

@Technoincubus Are you referring to the hydro fan?  You perhaps haven't researched everything yet, because there are two other machines that cool.  One cools gasses, one cools liquids.  And then  there's also a wild plant that cools by itself, without even using power.

I know about them but they all used for passing gasses and i am talking about Heater-like machine, when you install a device in a room and then it start cooling.

And it would be violating the laws of thermodynamics ;) . Wortplants actually violate that one too :)  But the simulation is supposed to be an approximate realistic simulation. So machines can only move heat not destroy it. Allthough I think some of it magically disappear in the process. Bug or feature, I don't know.

There is a magic cooling bug. When worts are combined with dripping water. Don't know if that one still works. You can search it out on the web if you want to try it.

We have laser and cloned people...

"Logic" doesn't really have much to do with it.  Logic is nice when we can get it, but it's about game balance.  The game's stated goal is that all devices have an 'up' side and a 'down' side.   A machine that magically deleted heat would be OP (fridges were doing this for a brief time recently due to an oversight - Klei nerfed that as fast as I've seen them nerf anything I think).   What you're asking for is a heat exchanger, but if it operates as a point machine, in order to make sense it would have to take in a liquid/gas via pipe and output a hotter version of that liquid/gas via pipe to have any semblance of balance.  And I feel like that would be more desirable than the machines we have which radiate the heat themselves, so then nobody would use the existing ones.  Now, maybe down the road we have 'quantum coolers' or something that straight up delete heat, at a massive power cost (which would be a little like a heat pump in the sense that producing the electricity produces heat).  Hard to tell.
