Rossum
I think it could be convenient to have it so you can just hook a water pipe directly to the supercomputer and have that deliver water instead of having the duplicants have to manually carry water from all over the base. Or have it set up so that it can operate without a pipe hookup (and have duplicants deliver water to it as normal) but if you hook a water pipe to it then the computer will automatically refill itself so long as the water can reach it through the pipe. The same could probably work with a few other devices such as the microbe mulcher (assuming it's using a recipe that requires water). Duplicants deliver water if it doesn't have a water pipe connected, but will simply use the water from the pipe if there is a proper hookup. Masterpintsman
This would make sense for quite a few buildings. additional candidates I see are electrolyzer and air scrubber, their intake/output is small enough for dupes to handle it.
Coolthulhu
The game would do just fine without bottled water. It would add some progression and not just "flat" research where you can unlock everything using starting tech.
