Arash70 Posted June 23, 2017 Share Posted June 23, 2017 So you have Don't Starve Together already installed on steam and you'd like to make a dedicated server? maybe you're the host, and you'd like to take some breaks. here's how to do it: Step one - Open a notepad (simply write notepad in start and open the program) Step two - Find your game path: right click on Steam shortcut -> click on Open File Location -> open steamapps folder -> open common folder -> open Don't Starve Together folder -> open bin folder -> copy directory address to notepad -> put quotations on its sides the address should look something like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together\bin" as you can see in the picture and your notepad file would look something similar to this by this step: Step three - Find your saves directory go to This PC (aka My Computer) -> click on Documents -> click on Klei -> click on DoNotStarveTogether -> make a new folder named MyDediServer DoNotStarveTogether folder would look like this Step four - Get your token open the game click on Play! -> click on Acct Info button -> a webpage will open -> click on Generate Server Token -> copy the generated token to notepad -> save notepad as cluster_token.txt in MyDediServer folder a. b. c. d. e. Step five - Generate your world now close the webpage return back to game, click on Host Game, let it generate the map, then disconnect and close the game. a. Go to saves directory (i.e: C:\Users\arash\Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether) , copy everything in Cluster_1 to MyDediServer folder) b. Go to MyDediServer/Master folder remove leveldataoverride.lua & modoverride.lua d. Open a notepad Write this in there cd /D "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together\bin" start dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer -cluster MyDediServer -shard Master start dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer -cluster MyDediServer -shard Caves replace the address above with your game address (if necessary) -> close notepad -> click on save -> save as StartDSTServer.bat Step six - Run StartDSTServer.bat and enjoy Side-notes: Thanks V2C for in-game screenshots Remember to keep the game up-to-date Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
