Replace Abyssalite seams with mineral-lined vacuum tunnels

Recommended Posts

I agree but its still currently silly to have Abyssalite at all with its material properties being what they are. Insulated tiles are almost worthless as you can just make normal tiles out of Abyssalite. Pipes heating up the base? Use abyssalite! Although.... abyssalite is pretty much mandatory for piping magma and other molten materials. That's why I suggested making it super rare and hard to get to.

Having biomes of different temperatures next to each other is by itself silly.

They should decide where is the heat coming from and have the cold areas in the areas furthest away from the heat.

So like if they want it planet-like, magma at the bottom, ice at the top. Or asteroid-like, magma at the edges of the map and cold in the middle. Then forget about vacuum/insulation and let things run it's course and have all the ice eventually melt and all the magma eventually solidify. So when you're starting a new game you'll have to immediately deal with oxygen and temperature and the flood coming from melting ice. Would need some balancing yeah ... but its a ton more interesting and the world now makes more sense.

In that world you can have rare abyss and everything else make sense.

Then where would you start, floating in magma?

It would be best to have the whole thing be a large asteroid tidally locked with a star, meaning one side of the asteroid would be mostly molten and the other side would be sub-zero.
