It seems it's only disease, which either causes a little stress (which is easily countered with decor) or creates more polluted oxygen. If that's it for the negative effects, I sincerely hope that changes in later builds. Not having to build oxygen infrastructure is the complete opposite spirit of this game. It's easily compress carbondioxide into one corner polluted oxygen is dull. low Thermal Capacity. hot yellow mist remain hot longer ... So do Battery among its mist. it overheat a lots easier since heat barely radiate into air. polluted oxygen is gluttonous. It eat our Food freshness twice than pure oxygen.rotten those Dupes source of Calories -26% per cycle. until Klei did think of deadly poison or dread plaque, it's SAFE to venture into rotten gas fill swamp behind backyard. ... for now. When you say it's heavy, is it heavier than normal oxygen? I always thought it floated above the normal oxygen, making it lighter or the same weight. Since pure O2 has lower expansion ratio (compressive force) it cannot FIGHT or slice path among hugh mass of yellow mist. those miserable oxygen trap below yellow mist usually stay below yellow mist until Carbondioxide (from Dupes) or slice it apart. the value is describe in detail tab. Polluted Oxygen and Oxygen have nearly the same density. They do not easily partition into layers when left alone. If there is an equal amount of mass, they will each occupy the same number of tiles over time, unless they've changed this behavior (highly unlikely). If you percolate CO2 gas into this system, the displacement caused by CO2 will jostle the polluted oxygen and oxygen around, but not very much. You can't suddenly trigger the system to totally reorganize the gasses. For this to happen, you need to also percolate in the other two gasses but at different rates. Overall, the gasses movements were designed in such a way as to favor polluted oxygen above CO2 in a three gasses system (oxygen, polluted oxygen, CO2) that is under constant perturbation.
