bzgzd
I like that it melts exactly with start of new day siren.
MoMuffins
So Ice as an item does not melt at all? That seems like a bug. I suspect their heat flux simulation is based on area. An item has a much smaller area than a tile. So heat is not exchange in any appreciable manner. What about dropping an item of ice into water? If the ice is below freezing, the water should start to cool and freeze around the item, encasing it.
Vilda
It does but not in large quantities. I've seen as large as 700 kg change temperature, so I think the limit is 1000
MoMuffins
So if you accumulate ice in a storage locker then empty it, you will have a ball of ice that is 20 ton that will never melt and never influence the temperature around it? That sounds like a bug. Of course you can feed that ice to hatches.
Vilda
Yeah, pretty sure it's not the intended behaviour

In debug mode I melted 5000 kg but it was sitting on 1800 °C obsidian rock and was going up just by 0.1 °C very slowly.
MoMuffins
Does ice temperature change while in storage locker and does that ice also makes the locker as cold as it?
