Will Oxygen Not Included Be Acessable on a 32 bit system soon?

Recommended Posts

My computer is on a 32 bit system windows 10 and I paid for this game. However it doesn't work. When its more developed or finished being created will it be accessible by my computer. If not will it come out on apple app store for my ipad as I am desperate to play this game and will be devastated if I cant play it.

If you bought your windows 10 or used the upgrade program you will be able to reinstall windows 10 with the 64 bit installer and everything will work just fine. If your windows 10 came with a prebuilt computer you would have to look around if its possible first.

Not to suggest piracy, but there are ways of getting the 64-bit version and performing a fresh install. It's actually quite easy. Just try using Google.

You can download the iso from microsoft directly

You can't really expect a developer to support a CPU architecture from 32 years ago.

If microsoft stopped releasing 32 bit windows that would solve every single "why is this game not 32 bits" as soon as all the old PCs die off. I can't even think of a single example where a 32 bit program only works on 32 bit windows nor is there any good reason why 32 bit windows even exist anymore.

One of the biggest issues with supporting 32-bit system is their memory limitations. Regardless of how much ram you've got on your computer, the 32-bit windows is only able to use 4 gbs.

At least for me, after a few hours of playing a colony my ram usage starts to get pretty ridiculously high around 5/6+ gbs. Unless seriously optimize whatever is taking up all the memory, the game is just going to slogg continuously.

See: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey, 32-bit windows is like 5% of the machines. And I can't imagine they'd spend that amount of work this early in development for such a small percentage of the pc gaming community. They 'might' eventually, but you may need to dish out for a better OS.
