This seems to highlight the lack of clarity with it. Things like Temperature and Oxygen are fairly obvious, with both numbers and colors to show what's working and what's not. Atmospheric pressure has no sort of overlay to tell you whether or not it's in a good spot. You only get warnings when it's too high or too low. What's worse is that there's no real indication of how to deal with it in-game. The only construction that seems to affect it is the Mechanized Airlock, but that doesn't really help to explain to you what it is. Even the constructions that are affected by it make very little mention of it if any. The Deoxydizer/Electrolyzer mention turning off when the pressure maxes out, but the planter box doesn't mention ceasing to function when it gets too low. Overall I think it could use some touch-ups on the text boxes and possibly an overlay to be able to tell if it's good at a glance. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It seems like certain machines increase it while others reduce it. It's hard to tell at the moment though, hence why I say it should be more clear than it currently is. Low pressure carbon dioxide looks dark red/purple-ish and high pressure looks crimson red. Low pressure contaminated oxygen looks amber-ish and high pressure looks lemon-yellow. I thought the shade was supposed to show how breathable the Oxygen is with Cyan being the best and dark red being the worst (aside from toxic oxygen). There's no "quality" of the oxygen or any other gas. It all just depends on how much g are on a said tile. Different gases will separate over time since they have different densities, (from top to bottom hydrogen-contaminated oxygen-oxygen-co2) and same gases will exchange mass between tiles slowly over time, so if nothing is consumed it will tend to equalize. To increase pressure you just have to pump out more gas, but since gas transfer quite slowly atm the further away you are from the source the least compressed it gets. Also depending on the density of the gas it will tend to form bigger or small tiles. Co2 can easily be compressed on the bottom into big ponds of 1000g, while if left alone in the air hydrogen will take as much space as possible and by default form a lot of tiles of 90-100 g. The question i have, if someone has the answer, is how pressure is calculated(for the plants needing some pressure) Is it just depending on the mass of the tile (so co2 is the best to get pressure) or is it a function of the mass and the density of the gas, so 100g of hydrogen and 600g of co2 can end up applying the same pressure ?
