Mencken Posted February 1, 2017 Share Posted February 1, 2017 The only games that I don't experience lag in is the official Klei ones although I've only been to open worlds (no passwords). Was looking into Citadel Servers, 6 slots, dedicated IP. Had a few questions: 1. Can games be saved? 2. Can you run two games of slots each? 3. Per Citadel I have to rent two servers, one for above, one for below ground caves. Appreciate any comments or tips, thanks! Following this topic in case someone chimes in with better tips for looking for hosts. RobertoRezende Posted February 1, 2017 Share Posted February 1, 2017 I do rent DST servers from Citadel. You do have to rent 2 servers: overworld and caves. They will help to easily set them up. 1- games can be saved... but that is a little bit confusing for me. You cannot have a backup of that on your computer. Really hard to work that out and they won´t help. Backup and restore is not that easy at least with New reign Beta. Outside beta things are easier. 2- no 3- yes. 2 servers as I said. Thanks for the answers. The customer representative said they couldn't give me any answers, that required Tech support but I presume you have to be a user before you can get that. Saving games is important to me otherwise you're forever stuck in a loop playing 20-80 days. cptCalavera Posted February 2, 2017 Share Posted February 2, 2017 I recently started to rent from uHostPro. They offer surface and caves on the same server. Only company I could find that does that. You can have as many saves as you want, but you have to manually swap the files when you want to swap saves. I rent servers from them but will be discontinuing because the user interface is such a hassle and often doesn't work for mysterious reasons. The knowledge base is very spotty. Also, the billing is a bit dodgy.
