Donator perks mod?

Hi. Am I allowed to have mods that give donators who have donated special perks e.g the ability to choose the color of his/her text when typing or make it so that only donators can craft some items that are in-game?

For the civility of the thread:

Please keep in mind that private servers are hosted by individuals who maintain all rights to the actions or inactions that go on within its realm, compliance to local laws and/or EULAs.  Determining what is or is not allowed is mainly up to the developers of the game and we have little bearing on it other than acting as an input for decision making decided by the developers.

 

 

Yes, it is entirely possible to do these things based on authentication IDs (KU_ or Steam64).

Well sans the text colouring one- that's handled C-side and the LUA-side only gets a copy to look at what colour it is and such.

 

Though I wouldn't imagine Klei being too happy about a mod that restricts in-game content created by them.

I'd personally recommend only limiting things in mods that you yourself have created to err on the safer side of this slippery slope.
