I can't draw on a computer! HELP!

I want to make a simple character mod, but I don't have one of those oh so fancy drawing pens for mobile, and my devices are so old I don't think there compatible. So all I have is a mouse. And MS paint. And a mouse is IMPOSSIBLY HARD to draw with. And MS paint is the biggest mistake that humankind ever made. So I had a stupid idea that might just save me. I am very good with a pen and paper, so I thought I would scan a drawing with all the stuff on it, scan it, and convert it to whatever the hell DST uses. I thought that this would look nice and fit in with the animation style, but I'm not so sure about it. And then there's the programming. Please give me advice.

You'll need a program that can make transparent images (PNG), something like     Photoshop (It isn't free, but you could get a trial) or GIMP (this one is free).

You could scan your drawings and load them into the program and maybe clean them up/trace over them a bit. (also, this is a great tutorial for creating characters, just in case you haven't seen it yet.)

A tip is to make the canvas very large and then you scale the image down.

The small mistakes you make won't be as apparent after everything is smaller, and this also lets your mouse movement be more precise.

Also, if you do end up using Photoshop, you could use the pen tool to create neat shapes and lines with a mouse. (I've never used GIMP before, so I don't know if it has a similar tool or not.) I use that tool often when making characters or weapons. ^^
